RACE THE HALF is a private event accessible through the purchase of a participation ticket as a driver, visitor, or exhibitor.
We remind you that all motor sports are dangerous and that the safety of yourself, your family and your friends is your sole responsibility.
By purchasing a ticket as a driver, visitor, or exhibitor, you agree to comply with the onsite safety guidelines and to be solely responsible for any minor or major issues that may affect you or your friends and family (accident, injury, virus, sickness, death, etc.). The purchase of a ticket signifies your consent and waives liability from the Airport and event organizers in the event of a minor or major issue that may affect your friends or family (accident, injury, virus, sickness, death, etc.).

Rules for Racing:
High performance cars, motorcycles, and SUVs can participate in the event.
Vehicles will be aligned two by two. Races will be rolling starts over a 50-meter distance at 50 km/h and the measured acceleration distance is 700 meters . Brake distance : 750 meters
No warming of the tires or intentional burnouts are tolerated. This will result in immediate expulsion from the track/tarmac.
N.B. For the one mile test, the cars/bike will be lined up individually (1.6 km run and 1.6 km braking)
1-Access
All individuals participating in Gasy en Piste events are subject to these regulations.
2-Waivers
All drivers attending or participating in the Gasy en Piste events must sign an online waiver.
Additional Rules for Drivers:
- The first pass must be 250kmh maximum for everyone to test the control and safety system
- For motorcycles: a full leather outfit must be worn and race bike shoes and gloves
- Required for vehicles that run below 198 Mph or 318 km/h:
– Helmet: Helmets are mandatory
– Safety/Seat belt: restraint systems that are used by the driver and passenger (if applicable) must be functional
– Clothing:
- Sandals or shoes must fully cover the foot (no holes and no flip-flops)
- At a minimum, pants and a long-sleeve shirt must be worn during races
- A race suit as well as running shoes are recommended (but not required)
– Tires: The maximum speed rating of the tires must be higher than the speed attainable by the car
– Any vehicle with an oil leak will not be allowed on the track
– The vehicle must be clean and well presented
– The vehicle must have all the normal systems of a car or motorcycle that is functional (example for information only and not exhaustive: 4 wheel brakes for cars or front and rear wheel brakes for motorcycles, functional airbag, normal ABS , …)
- Required for vehicles that are capable of running over 198 Mph or 318 km/h (land speed vehicles are not accepted):
– Full face helmet required
– Safety/Seat belt: minimum 5-point harness
– A fireproof race suit
– Sandals or shoes must fully cover the foot (no holes and no flip-flops)
– Tires: The maximum speed rating of the tires must be higher than the speed attainable by the car
– Any vehicle with an oil leak will not be allowed on the track
– The vehicle must have all the normal systems of a car or motorcycle that is functional (example for information only and not exhaustive: 4 wheel brakes for cars or front and rear wheel brakes for motorcycles, functional airbag, normal ABS , …)
5-– Trophies will be awarded according to the maximum speed reached. The driver must be on site for the trophy presentation or he will be disqualified.
Each driver must make a minimum of one pass in the morning and one pass in the afternoon to be eligible for the trophies.

6-Speed Recording
Speed is recorded through an automate laser system. The recorded speed may differ from the speed indicated on the vehicle speedometer. However, to maintain consistency, we use the same devices for everyone.
7-Timing
- 7:30 am–8:30 am—Arrival of Drivers, Installation and Distribution of Numbers
- 8:30 am–9:00 am—Briefing and Orientation
- 9:00 am–12:00 pm—Race
- 12:00 pm–1:00 pm—Break
- 1:00 pm–4:00 pm—Race
- 4:30 pm—Trophy Presentation
Normally, 4 passes per car/bike per direction are feasible throughout the day. However, this number can vary depending on the situation onsite. The earlier you arrive, the higher your chances for making more passes.
Reminder:
RACETHEHALF is not an official competition but trophies will be distributed to commemorate this special day.
Failure to comply with these regulations and directives may result in event expulsion without refund.
As mentioned when purchasing your ticket as a pilot or visitor or exhibitor, the ticket is neither transferable nor refundable regardless of the situation (postponement, cancellation …). We reserve the right to refuse a participant as well.
